The Margaret River Community Centre Inc. is situated at 33 Tunbridge Street in what was the old Margaret River Hospital. The complex comprises 8 Heritage listed buildings that represent one of the finest examples of group settlement architecture in the area.
The Centre however is not just a group of old buildings, and following an
extensive renovation programme funded by Lotteries Commission the result
is today an example of excellence in the field of recycling historically
important buildings for modern use and is a model for the South West. Officially
opened by the Hon. Paul Omodei MLA in April 1994 the centre has gone from
strength to strength.
The Centre is completely self-supporting from rental of office and communal space.

The Centre is regularly attended by professionals from Bunbury Community Legal Centre and South West Community Drug Service Team, and by representatives from Forrest Personnel and PVS Workfind and other employment agencies.
The Centre also has communal meeting room areas for ad hoc users and offers fax and photocopy facilities. Some of the groups using our rooms on a regular basis are the Ashley’s Yoga, Capoeira Wu Tao, Quilters group, Sahaja Meditation, Al-Anon, AA, Overeaters Anonymous, Orchid Society, Augustine Fellowship, Seventh Day Adventist Church, Local Drug Action Group.
Isacc’s Community Art Gallery is available to local artists for exhibitions at affordable rates.

Emergency Relief Fund - Providing cash assistance on a one off basis in an
emergency situation. The Centre is very concerned with Social Justice and produces
a handbook or welfare services.
Artist in Residence Programme - self contained one bedroom apartment with studio.
Nominal rent with workshop and exhibition spaces provided at no cost. The programme
is primarily concerned with enrichment of the local arts community through
outside interaction.
The Old Hospital forms part of a "community corridor" with the New Hospital, Library, well and frail aged facilities, and the new Silver Chain Day Care Respite Centre.
The Federation Community Garden created in conjunction with TAFE landscaping students provides a welcoming area between the library and the Community Resource Centre for the whole community to enjoy.
The Margaret River Community Resource Centre Inc. is a true resource for
the Community. Reacting to the perceived needs of the community, disseminating
information and providing essential services.
