Patersonia occidentalis

The most common of the native iris, you have to be up early to see them at their best. The flowers last only a few hours in the morning, but each plant has numerous flowers that bloom in turn. There are 17 species known, 13 of which grow in WA.
FLOWERS: September to November.
DISTRIBUTION: Widespread in the south-west, especially in sandy and granite soils.
