Anigozanthos mangesii

Western Australia's floral emblem and the best known of the roopaws. Strange velvety flowers that are pollinated by honeyeaters or wattlebirds. There are 11 species of roo and catpaws that grow only in the south-west.
FLOWERS: August to November
DISTRIBUTION: Widespread in the south-west and as far north as Shark Bay.
