Jeremy Strode in residency at Xanadu

Having recently launched their new Sydney restaurant Bistrode to rave reviews, highly-acclaimed chefs Jeremy and Jane Strode are heading west to take up a very special guest residency in the kitchens of Xanadu winery on February 24 and 25.

In an extremely rare opportunity for Margaret River to witness the great talents of Chef Strode, an intimate four-course dinner will be held at the winery on the evenings of both Friday (24th) and Saturday (25th).  Showcasing the region’s finest seasonal produce, Jeremy’s menu will be matched with a range of impressive new and museum release Xanadu wines.

Having learnt his craft in the internationally-revered kitchens of the Roux brothers, Pierre Koffman and Roger Verge, English-born Strode has since been responsible for a number of award-winning Australian establishments.

Arriving in Melbourne in 1992, Jeremy burst onto the city’s restaurant scene and developed a loyal following from his time in charge of The George Café, The Adelphi, his own restaurant - Pomme and then Langton’s before heading to Sydney in 2002 to take up a post as head chef at MG Garage.  In 2005, on top of establishing Bistrode, Jeremy and Jane launched their new cookbook, entitled ‘Two’s Cooking’ (Pan Macmillan).

Strode joins a gold plate award-winning team at the Margaret River winery, led by fellow English-born chef, Wayne Booth.   This exciting event – intended as the first of a series of special guest chef dinners at the winery – kicks off a new era for Xanadu, acquired by the Rathbone Family in August 2005.

The new owners and established restaurant team share Strode’s passion and commitment to produce-driven fare and the dinners will be a true celebration of what this world-class region has to offer.   This Margaret River event is simply not to be missed.
