pigmy possum Cercartetus concinnus |
![]() |
Even the most conservative
scientists call these tiny marsupials cute. This miniature possum has soft reddish-brown fur, large eyes, big soft ears and a long snout. Rarely larger than a mouse, it has a prehensile tail used for climbing and which is often curled. They are adapted to live among small branches and are nocturnal. They are widely spread through the south-west. The best time to see one, and you would have to be really lucky, is when the trees are in blossom as they like flowers and nectar, and insects. NEXT |
