Western brush wallaby
Macropus firma

Wallabies are smaller than kangaroos and this species has black extremities, hence its other name, black gloved wallaby.
It is found in jarrah forests in the south-west and if you are looking for them you need to be out early in the morning or at dusk.
Their numbers have been declining in the past 25 years, but recently there appears to be an expansion as a result of fox baiting programs.
